Other Expenses:  Part X of a Ten Part Series “The top Ten Tax Deductions”Other Expenses: Part X of a Ten Part Series "The Top Ten Tax Deductions"

A tax deduction for other expenses allows for the tax deduction of items the government has not listed on their form. Just because the government has not listed a particular item as an expense, does not mean that it will not qualify as a business expense. The particular phase a business may be in can have an impact upon both the type and amount of money spend for other expenses. A start up business may well spend large money on items that are promotional and gifts, while an established company may spend more money on legal fees. In both cases, where and how much money spent does not necessarily fit any mold and therefore, is listed differently on the tax return as a tax deduction. .Small  business expenses can include such items as dues and subscriptions, business telephone systems, internet access, and other expenses. There is no small business deductions list, just because the government has not made provision on the form for a particular business expense does not mean that it is not a legitimate and ordinary necessary business expense and hence a tax deduction. Because each business operates in its own environment, it incurs its own unique expenses and hence tax deductions.
